June 18, 2017 shall always be remembered in the hearts of Bukomolo people because it’s the day the clinic started to see patients. What a hope, what a joy to save lives in a village that had no health facility! Imagine a village where pregnant women suffered walking long distances to find care. The nearest health facility was 10 miles away. The clinic serves a population of about 20,000 people.
The major aims of establishing Bukomolo Clinic in Kibuku district was to promote maternal & child health. This clinic is located in Kibuku District in eastern Uganda.
The district stands at 43% maternal mortality in the country and it is remote with low access to health services. The district also struggles with high numbers of teenage pregnancies & at Bukomolo clinic 2 of 5 pregnant women who report for antenatal are teenagers.
