Grace Works Initiative (GWI) is a not-for-profit Organization in Uganda. It was founded in 2013. We promote healthcare to underprivileged communities focusing on children, women, and youths together with their families.
In Eastern Uganda, GWI works in Kibuku District. We constructed a medical health facility in Bukomolo village, Bulangira Subcounty. This is a rural community that lacks many basic needs. Before the clinic, people would walk about 10 miles to access care. Women and children suffered most. Other programs and projects in Bukomolo community include; crop farming, animal husbandry, poultry, youth empowerment, women empowerment, children education, and menstrual hygiene management. Also, we work with the local churches in promoting spiritual needs of the people.
In Northern Uganda, GWI works in Arua District, Rhino Refugee Camp. We provide menstrual hygiene management for girls and women from South Sudan. We give them free menstrual kits and provide health reproductive therapy.
In Karamoja region, GWI advocates against FGM. We have published a book titled “Voice in the Jungle”. This book brings to light the depth of Africa’s cultural crisis of Female Genital Mutilation, child marriages and girl’s education.
