This is Ronald Mboizi being carried by GWI CEO at his home on his second birthday celebration last year. Looking on is his father and mother. Ronald was brought at Bukomolo Clinic in 2017 suffering from Hydrocephalus. He was only eight (8) months old.
Through GWI’s Childcare Support Program, Ronald received financial aid for surgery and he recovered.
However, last night, Baby Ronald went to his heavenly home. He has not died of hydrocephalus. He has died from hunger. Since the arrival of COVID-19 in Uganda and the restriction of lockdown the activities of childcare program got affected, and there is also roving hunger in the communities.
Children are mostly affected and every day, the clinic receives several cases of malnutrition.
