This is Ronald Mboizi. He suffered from hydrocephalus. His mother brought him at our clinic in October last year. He was eight months old.
Her words were “help me, I wan’ die” as tears rolled down from her eyes. Such cases in this community are regarded as a curse from the gods and no one should associate with victims. Many have died helpless and in some cases mothers of such children commit suicide.
At our clinic, we don’t handle such cases but through Jackson Healthcare USA, Ronald was able to find help. They assessed the baby had hydrocephalus and they connected us to Cure Uganda for surgery. Jackson Healthcare has a powerful child-based record keeping system, built from the ground up for remote care and access to lifesaving programs.
Ronald is now well. His mother and the family are happy. In fact this has encouraged many people with complicated illnesses to seek care and counsel at our clinic. The clinic has a program for children with special needs to subsidize on costs for their surgery and medicines
