The patients’ turn up at Bukomolo Clinic in 2021 was over 12,000, slightly higher than that of 2020 which had about 10,000 patients.
The Clinic Administrator, Lawrence Kageni says that, the rise of numbers is because the community is actively opening up about their health and at the same time the support of donations towards monthly medicine stocking.
“Since the onset of Covid19 pandemic in 2020, we have waved off almost 90% of what a patient can pay for a full dose” he says.
The Clinic In-Charge and also the clinical officer, Joan Katooko, says that, she is particularly impressed by the mothers because they are very vigilant in bringing their children for treatment.
“We registered 67% children. They suffered mainly from malaria, acute diarrhea, pneumonia, measles and dehydration” notes Katooko.
In the maternity, 64 babies were safely delivered.
Our partner, Central UMC, Fayetteville, AR, is supplementing medicine stocking at the clinic to allow quick service delivery to the patients.
