Inside Bukomolo Clinic

Mama Baby

Her neighbors call her Mama Baby, the new name she got after giving birth to her baby at Bukomolo clinic.

This baby is the second child of this woman.

Unfortunately, the first child died while she was delivering at her home because she couldn’t easily manage to walk to a public health facility which was about 12 miles away from her home.

“Thank you Bukomolo Clinic. Now I have a child” she says.

One of the major aims of establishing Bukomolo Clinic was to promote maternal health. Pregnant women in this community suffered finding help.

Many opted for traditional birth attendants yet they lacked skills to safely deliver these women.

Every year, the clinic receives hundreds of pregnant women coming for antenatal care and deliveries.
