Girls out of school want help

Now, it is a month since resumption of schools in Uganda after years of lockdown from Covid19 pandemic. At GWI, we reflect upon youths especially girls who are not returning to school.

Like in Bukomolo village, the effects of the pandemic exposed many girls into early sex. Most of these girls fell plea because they were looking for food from men who in turn indulged them into sex causing many to conceive.

One of the pregnant girls at Bukomolo Clinic.

At Bukomolo Clinic, 3 of the 5 pregnant women visiting for antenatal are girls.  We have talked out with these girls and majority doesn’t want to go back to school. But they want to get life supporting skills that will help them maneuver their lives and that of their children.

Our program of girls’ sanitary wear and skills development has integrated these girls to get trained in hair dressing, sewing, baking, crafts making, and soap making.

Your support of $1,000 will equip this program with training equipment.

Let us together give hope to these young mothers!!
