In 7 Years of Bukomolo Clinic

Children playing at the reception area of the clinic. The best moments is to see some of the babies delivered growing up healthy and the community pointing at them as Bukomolo clinic children

This month, Bukomolo clinic made 7 years of seeing patient. It was June 18, 2017. What a hope, what a joy to save lives in a village that had no health facility. Imagine a village where pregnant women and children suffered walking long distances to find care.

We celebrate thousands of patients treated, we celebrate hundreds of babies born safely, we celebrate the many developments that have come to the community because of this clinic.

The major aims of establishing Bukomolo Clinic in Kibuku district was to promote maternal & child health. The district stands at 43% maternal mortality in the country and it is remote with low access to health services.

Thanks to Bukomolo Clinic. Now, I have a child” says mama baby, one of the mothers who delivered her child at the clinic. Her first child died before the clinic was established. The child died while she was delivering at her home.

The district also struggles with high numbers of teenage pregnancies & at Bukomolo clinic 2 of 5 pregnant women who report for antenatal are teenagers.

“The best moments is to see some of the babies delivered growing up healthy and the community pointing at them as Bukomolo clinic children” says GWI CEO Grace Nakajje.
